In the early 1980s, the financial services world was quite different than it is today. For the average consumer, choices were limited, advice scarce and the main product was in the form of commissionable trades for stocks, along with a relatively new product called a mutual fund. Information regarding financial planning and investment management was limited as well.
Realizing an unmet need, Harbor was founded with the idea that great, unbiased financial advice should be available to everyone and should be tailored to the exact needs and goals of the client. We set out to create a financial plan that stood on its own, which we then paired with sophisticated investment advice on a fee for services basis.
Twenty-five years later, our focus remains the same.
